Chinese copy machine duplicates Indian Bike

January 11, 2006

IndiaTimes is reporting that a Chinese company has duplicated Bajaj-Pulsar, an Indian Motor Bike and is selling them in Latin America under the brand, Gulsar. India is the larget manufacturer of MotorBikes in the world. It is now becoming apparent that upto half of Chinese manufacturing facilities don’t respect IP rights and hence can claim to be a low cost manufacturer in the world. Earlier I reported that Huawei, a major telecom giant has violtaed laws in almost all the countries. Uncle Sam prefers to be a silent observer while China takesover the American economy, can India afford to sit quiet ? Can Rahul Bajaj make his case and win against China ? Looking at Rahul’s track record, he was protected by various Indian governments for over 20 years before liberalisation and he surely lacks the acumen of a global businessman.

Mr. Failure President, Free Iraq or China ?

January 9, 2006

Mr. Failure President of the United States of America, you should be thinking of China the next time when you address the nation with constitutional words like Democracy, Freedom and Speech. IHT reports that New York Times Research Assistant, Zhao Jing’s( online alias An Ti. Zhao) blog on MSN Spaces was pulled down by Microsoft under pressure from the Chinese government. Zhao Jing’s new blogs is available here.

It is very unfortunate that a company like Microsoft bowed down to the Chinese order(they hardly request). If you have forgotten, Microsoft in the US was the only American corporate to support gay rights openly in the state of WA. Obviously, Microsoft knows that Uncle Sam won’t intervene in its support. But why is Uncle Sam afraid of China ? Bowing down to their order is sending a wrong signal – Beijing is more powerful than Washington ?
